6/1/11 Tuesday

When I woke up this morning it felt like I was at a new marker on the race of my life with my past behind me. No way to turn my head or crane my kneck back toward other contestants. Im in position, free to see an endless track ahead. Ready,Set,Hear the sound of the gun. Now Go!

I relish in knowing my significance comes from the fulness of the life of God in Christ Jesus crucified and reflected from the cross so that the glory can be recieved in the heart therby directing the entire life and purpose. I choose to dwell within the boundairies of this day alone awash in the blood of Jesus.

I am not a victim bound to my past, but if God deems it necessary it could be useful for helping, and perhaps edifying the body of Christ as I surrender the brokenness of my life. I must lay my crown at the foot of Jesus so that I can be healed by the mercies and comfort of God. By grace it is my desire to let go of any right to the past, and the demands of the future. I recognize there are so many things I simply do not know.

I humbly realize any gifts or talent I may posses is not enough to fulfill the destiny God has planned for me. I have to slow down, stop, and recognize God who reveals His way through unfathomable means of lovingkindness.

It is an utmost privilege to come before Jesus in brokenness to kneel before the cross in full view of the verdant pasture land opened up beyond the sufferings of the cross for those who choose to enter through. All I want O Lord is your love today in your outstreched arms upon the cross. You know me intimately being frequented with my every way. I am raised in Christ the Lord. I have found my place amidst the stars of evermore.

A Social Gospel Expose

I believe Jesus Christ is the greatest humanitarian to have ever lived. Not only did Jesus heal the sick, but He also focused on what matters most in light of our eternal significance. Jesus being the Son of God took on the punishment and sins of the whole world embracing each and every heartache upon the cross. Jesus Christ tasted death which is the greatest threat and plague confronting the human race. Jesus was raised up from the dead by the full power of God at work in His spirit as the only begotten Son of the Father. Jesus always saw the temporal as a means to reveal an eternal perspective. When Jesus fed the five thousand with five loaves of bread he met a physical,"social" need, but He also used the opportunity to declare the gospel of eternal life through Him. When Jesus met the Samaritan woman at the well He was able to speak of quenching living water that wells up to eternal life. Jesus is deeply concerned with the most pressing social issues facing our time. Jesus told the disciples that whatever you do unto the least of these among you,you have done unto me. There are over 4000 references to the poor and the needy throughout the Old and New Testament which is Gods word. It is clear that God has called every believer to a lifetime of work in the social gospel movement. All of our passion for social causes is actually rooted in the life of Christ, and the unparalleled impact His life has had throughout history. We have not invented a new movement as we may like to believe.
Most experts believe the epidemic of human, sexual slavery is the greatest social cause facing the 21st century. Did you know over 27 million people are in forced slavery in the world right now as I share this harrowing figure. There is a very informative web site freetheslaves.com that clearly describes the issue of sexual slavery, and the site offers many helpful ways that we can become involved in hopefully eradicating this disturbing situation. On the free the slaves web site site you can "Become the Change" as you become equipped to help to eradicate a social cause that really shouldnt be in existence at all. Anti Slavery Intl exists "to liberate slaves around the world, and attack the systems that allow slavery to exist." A child in Ghana can be bought and sold for $90 on the slave market. It costs $132 to pay for a raid to free child slaves in India and Sudan which helps brutally violated and abused child slaves to gradually recover and rebuild their lives. When Jesus shed His blood at Mount Golgatha, which is called "the place of the skull" over two thousand years ago He gave His life and offered His blood to cover the many child slaves who are suffering throughout the world today. We are called to bring to fruition and reality the cleansing work of Christ that began from the place of His glory where He was nailed to a criminals cross.
