I want to testify to the fact that God has picked up the broken shards from the ruins of my heart, and He is fashioning something beautiful from them.
There are times in our lives when we are beset by adversity and continuous trial and disappointment. Our lives have become so marred and ugly from our vantage point, but in times like these it is of utmost importance to remain hopeful;because unbeknownst to us God has all along been weaving a thread of His grace into a tapestry we have yet to concieve of.
Sometimes to be fit for a greater service one must be willing to be initiated as God leads you through a process of narrow straits. To be willing to wade out into the baptismal waters even to be submerged and forced into its current if need be.

But you have kept the fine wine until now. Jn 2:10
Most Biblical scholars believe the author of the Gospel of John paralelled the days of creation in Genesis with the events in the gospel. For example, on day three in Gen 1:1 "God said: Let the earth sprout vegetation, plants yielding seed and fruit trees bearing fruit in which is their seed each according to its kind on earth, and it was so." It is recorded by John in the second chapter of the gospel that on the "third day" Jesus turned water into wine. The miracle of turning water into wine was Jesus first recorded miracle, and through this act Jesus the Son of God began recreating. Eventhough the first creation is spectacular and has provided everything in the known world including "trees with seed after their kind" it does not compare to the new world Christ is creating in the lives of sons and daughters of God.
God rewrote the text of my life when I opened the book of my heart to His eyes.2Sam 22:23(The Message Trans
Im thankful for Gods forgiveness in my life in Christ Jesus, and I want you to experience the same freedom in your life.
You should know that the cell door has been flung wide open for longer than you realize. Where are the active judges on your case? Your chains have been broken. You are free to go.
The dark and black cell has become a wide open butterfly sanctuary made up of every multicolored species of butterfly representative of Edens first breath.

Lost!?
I recognize that I have been lost. Jesus came to seek and save the lost;and I believe this is why such mercy and grace has been applied to my life because He wants me found and safe in His arms.
The directions I had been following were all wrong, and they took me nowhere. I was so convinced the path was leading me home. The principle of the path states that direction determines destination. The GPS tracking signal failed me many miles and years ago.The trouble is we rarely ever wake up to just how lost we truly are until we find ourselves in a dark wood with no place else to go.

In Christianity parents are instructed to raise their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. It is of utmost importance that we teach our children at a young age that Jesus loves them because the brain of a child is like a sponge that absorbs everything in an unprecedented way. Children are able to retain the truths of Gods word "so that when they are old they will not depart from it." This time in the life of the child is also crucial to the development of discernment;and in fact researchers and scientists have come to the realization that the enduring character of a human being is completely formed by the age of eight or nine. It should come as no surprise that a child that is so richly blessed and influenced by loving parents will grow into adulthood; and more importantly each boy and girl who has asked Jesus to enter their heart will go on to grow into the fulness and stature of Jesus Christ. Many of our children will give their lives in a foreign land out of great love for the one billion people who have never heard the gospel or Jn3:16.
It is heartbreaking to see children in certain middle eastern countries being taught to "Hate the Jew! Hate the Jew!" This hate filled speech in the form of cartoons and childrens programming is designed to reach the most impressionable children with the violent message of Jihadi and extremist Islam. The children in these countries are raised from a young age to hate;and the mind is so receptive to influence. Should we ever wonder why a child who is raised in an environment of such hate and vitriol grows up and chooses to strap bombs on his or her body and kill hundreds of innocent bystanders.

6/1/11 Tuesday
When I woke up this morning it felt like I was at a new marker on the race of my life with my past behind me. No way to turn my head or crane my kneck back toward other contestants. Im in position, free to see an endless track ahead. Ready,Set,Hear the sound of the gun. Now Go!
I relish in knowing my significance comes from the fulness of the life of God in Christ Jesus crucified and reflected from the cross so that the glory can be recieved in the heart therby directing the entire life and purpose. I choose to dwell within the boundairies of this day alone awash in the blood of Jesus.
I am not a victim bound to my past, but if God deems it necessary it could be useful for helping, and perhaps edifying the body of Christ as I surrender the brokenness of my life. I must lay my crown at the foot of Jesus so that I can be healed by the mercies and comfort of God. By grace it is my desire to let go of any right to the past, and the demands of the future. I recognize there are so many things I simply do not know.
I humbly realize any gifts or talent I may posses is not enough to fulfill the destiny God has planned for me. I have to slow down, stop, and recognize God who reveals His way through unfathomable means of lovingkindness.
It is an utmost privilege to come before Jesus in brokenness to kneel before the cross in full view of the verdant pasture land opened up beyond the sufferings of the cross for those who choose to enter through. All I want O Lord is your love today in your outstreched arms upon the cross. You know me intimately being frequented with my every way. I am raised in Christ the Lord. I have found my place amidst the stars of evermore.

A Social Gospel Expose
I believe Jesus Christ is the greatest humanitarian to have ever lived. Not only did Jesus heal the sick, but He also focused on what matters most in light of our eternal significance. Jesus being the Son of God took on the punishment and sins of the whole world embracing each and every heartache upon the cross. Jesus Christ tasted death which is the greatest threat and plague confronting the human race. Jesus was raised up from the dead by the full power of God at work in His spirit as the only begotten Son of the Father. Jesus always saw the temporal as a means to reveal an eternal perspective. When Jesus fed the five thousand with five loaves of bread he met a physical,"social" need, but He also used the opportunity to declare the gospel of eternal life through Him. When Jesus met the Samaritan woman at the well He was able to speak of quenching living water that wells up to eternal life. Jesus is deeply concerned with the most pressing social issues facing our time. Jesus told the disciples that whatever you do unto the least of these among you,you have done unto me. There are over 4000 references to the poor and the needy throughout the Old and New Testament which is Gods word. It is clear that God has called every believer to a lifetime of work in the social gospel movement. All of our passion for social causes is actually rooted in the life of Christ, and the unparalleled impact His life has had throughout history. We have not invented a new movement as we may like to believe.
Most experts believe the epidemic of human, sexual slavery is the greatest social cause facing the 21st century. Did you know over 27 million people are in forced slavery in the world right now as I share this harrowing figure. There is a very informative web site freetheslaves.com that clearly describes the issue of sexual slavery, and the site offers many helpful ways that we can become involved in hopefully eradicating this disturbing situation. On the free the slaves web site site you can "Become the Change" as you become equipped to help to eradicate a social cause that really shouldnt be in existence at all. Anti Slavery Intl exists "to liberate slaves around the world, and attack the systems that allow slavery to exist." A child in Ghana can be bought and sold for $90 on the slave market. It costs $132 to pay for a raid to free child slaves in India and Sudan which helps brutally violated and abused child slaves to gradually recover and rebuild their lives. When Jesus shed His blood at Mount Golgatha, which is called "the place of the skull" over two thousand years ago He gave His life and offered His blood to cover the many child slaves who are suffering throughout the world today. We are called to bring to fruition and reality the cleansing work of Christ that began from the place of His glory where He was nailed to a criminals cross.

Christ Opposed to Culture
The cross of Jesus Christ is appalling. This may be troubling to hear, but there is a concentrated effort to remove Christ from the culture completely. During passion week this year in Egypt and other places in the Middle East over thirty people have been killed for professing faith in Jesus Christ Even in churches throughout the United States the sacrifice and resurrection of Jesus Christ has become secondary in importance as we attempt to be seeker friendly, yet dare to speak of the cross of the Son of God in whispers and hushed tones. To many "the cross is a mark of shame, but to the believer the cross is the power of God unto salvation"(Rom 1:16). The prophet Isaiah wrote under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit about the rejection the Son of God would endure in Isaiah 6:9 "Go say to these people: keep listening, but do not understand; keep looking, but do not percieve. Dull the minds of these people; deafen their ears and blind their eyes; otherwise they might see with their eyes and hear with their ears, understand with their minds, turn back and be healed." There is no middle ground in matters of the cross. You either wholeheartedly embrace the cross or you stand opposed to its work in your life. The apostle Paul said in The book of Romans that "the truth is suppressed since what can be known about God is evident among us because God has shown it to them through the creation of the world." "Because they did not think it worthwhile to have God in their knowledge(the way of the cross) God delivered them over to a worthless mind to do what is morally wrong."(Rm1:18-20,28)
The average human life span is 78.6 years which amounts to 1 billion heartbeats. This doesn't really leave us all that much time. As I observe the zietgist of our modern age it seems like we rarely live for anything real and vital. Thoreau said:"Most men lead lives of quiet desperation."We are seeking to do good whether its through celebrity, the green movement, sports worship, objectifying women through images in the media, and our talent that has to be broadcasted for it to be real. The prophet Isaiah said:"All of our righteousness is like filthy rags",and in this case all of our righteousness is to be considered as discarded menstrual waste. Is your next heartbeat per minute going to be one that beats strongly with the love of Christ to fulfill His destiny for your life through the enduring, imperishable, and uncorrupted reality of the cross?
Ps 66:5 Come and see the works of God. His acts toward mankind are awe inspiring.
Ps 65:4 How happy is the one you choose and bring near to live in your courts.

Happy New Year 2011
You may not know it yet,but everyone has a land and territory decreed by God. This very time is critical. Its never too late. You can begin again with each new step. What you do now will determine your ability to claim the land and territory that is already under the authority of the foot of Jesus Christ. Are you in a place where it seems like your boundary lines have been drawn up far too cramped for your liking, and you have grown too restless to settle for what is common and limited? Are you where you imagined you would be as you bravely begin to seek out all that could be? Jesus Christ is the Son of God,and His desire is for you to traverse the limitless abundance of who He is. (Eph 1:11 In Him we were made His inheritance, predestined according to the purpose of the one who works out everything in agreement with the decision of His will.)
This is a call unlike any other. Jesus told the disciples gathered around Him that in order to be His disciple you must take up your cross and lose your life in order to find it. At the time of Jesus Christ the cross was known to be ugly and scandalous. So many of the followers gathered around Jesus walked away. In the 21st century we have so many skewed and and distorted notions of glory, fame, and power. If you remember Jesus Christ revealed the fulness of the glory of God being nailed to a cross. (Psalm 16:6 The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;Indeed I have a beautiful inheritance.)

Finding Christ in Culture at the Dali Exhibit at The High Museum of Art
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.
On Thursday, December 30, I went to The High Museum of Art in Atlanta to view the late works of Salvador Dali. The painting that captivated my attention was St John of the Cross. At this time in art it was very out of the ordinary for an artist to include religious imagery in their work. It just wasn't done. At least until the great Dali returned to his Catholic faith in 1951. Dali was able to see a sketch St John had drawn, but it was the unique angle of the picture that resonated with Dali. The angle of the painting is breathtaking because when it is viewed it gives the impression of being seen from above. As I took in the marvel of the painting with my mouth agape and experienced a time of worship I thought "Who am I in relation to the Christ depicted in the painting." Who do we think we are?" Here in 2011 it is apparent that no matter how secularized we have become that Christ and the cross still has the power to astound, and speak to the core of the human experience, because Dali chose to showcase the mystery of Jesus Christ, front and center for countless thousands of viewers. The aspect of Christ on the cross is exhibited and gloriously displayed in the cultural art movement of surrealism which Dali so bravely explored. The painting is for me a call to the sacred yet reality of Jesus Christ in a medium outside of scripture. In fact I believe by seeing the painting, hearing the audio commentary about the work, and the Holy Spirit moving upon the heart that it is possible to make a profession of faith in Christ through the work St John of the Cross by Salvador Dali. Because the individual held upon the cross looks like an average person it is possible to see oneself upon the cross, since we know Christ died for all.
